Missions and Evangelism

Back To Church Sunday – 1 September:

• The donation towards the Rosmead Central Primary School is heading for well over R40 000. On top of this, people have donated a fridge and a separate freezer for the school kitchen, which has the daily task of feeding of 200 of the children at the school. This will be such a boost for the school. Praise the Lord.

Outreach

• Rob Swan will be attending the annual Earthdance weekend from today until Sunday. He and a team from the BI want to be witnesses for Christ in a pagan festival. Pray for them that they will and have the power of the Holy Spirit and the compassion of Christ and wisdom as they speak. Pray also for their spiritual protection from the attacks of Satan.

Missionaries:

• Pray for Selwyn and Phyllis Kettles as they minister to the prisoners in Oudtshoorn Prison.

Church People and Ministries

People

• Emily Joubert’s father passed away last Friday. The funeral service will be on Thursday the 26th. Emily flies home the next day. Do pray for her and the family.
• Bruce Erickson’s parents arrive this weekend from the USA for a visit.
• The le Roux’s daughter, Beverly Broderick, who is now nearly 32 weeks pregnant, is facing the possibility of a premature birth. Do pray for her and the family.
• Ashleigh Kreusch and Saxon Hawkins will be married tomorrow. We rejoice with them.
• Welcome back to Gordon and Annette and Ra Lennox from their time overseas.
• Matt Lennox is still looking for a job. He is a helicopter pilot.
• Peter Smallbones will be taking leave after the Baptist Union Annual Assembly to spend time with his son, David, in Johannesburg.

Ministry 

• The brown money collection has so far raised over R1200 This will be used to buy Bibles for the children’s wing of Groote Schuur Hospital.
• At our church meeting we had a great time of discussing the future outreach. Our aim is to reach families for Christ by first reaching the children through our children’s ministry and then reaching out to parents. Do be in prayer that we will be listening to the Lord as we make plans for next year.
• Denominational news: The Baptist Union Annual Assembly is meeting in Johannesburg from tomorrow until Wednesday. Do pray for the incoming president, Rev. Deon Malan, who will be guiding us through the agenda. There is much time given for inspiration and preaching, and we are praying for a great blessing in our denomination. Eric and Sue le Roux and Peter Smallbones will be our delegates. Cathryn Lennox will also be attending as an observer, and will have an opportunity to learn from Rev. Trent Eayrs who is a very gifted worship leader. Pray for safe journeys for all the delegates as well as for all the speakers and for wisdom during debates and decisions that need to be made.

Our societal needs
