Weekly Prayer Letter

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. - Ephesians 5:1,2

I would love to hear how you are finding the 40 days of growth through Ephesians. I am praying that the above verse will be a great challenge to all of us. In the last 2 weeks we focus on family relationships – Marriage & Parenting. Our prayer supper this week will focus on prayer for the families in Claremont and next Sunday (15th) is Fathers’ day. Our prayer is that God will renew our family relationships.

Missions

• Pray for Ben Smith and the ministry to Rooiwal and the Richtersveld. 
  
• Pray for the Northern parts of Nigeria where Boko Horam are persecuting and attacking all villages and people who are not Muslim. Pray not just for peace but that the love of Christ will flood that part of Africa. 

CBC Family

When you pray for our church family, why not contact them – either phone call, sms, email etc – and let them know that they have been in your thoughts and prayers. This will be a great encouragement to all.

• Margaret Herringshaw fell last Sunday and broke her arm.
• Dave Brassler and Robert Dau are both thankful that there eye operations went very well.
• Alexia Veale thanks the Lord for permanent employment. 
• Rachael Beukes is back home safely after her stay with family in NZ.
• The Miller’s family from Aus are visiting. Unfortunately both Kilmeny and Joanne have very bad flu. Please pray for a swift recovery.
• Pray for CBC family who are overseas –Peter and Barbie Anderson (UK/USA). Ra Lennox UK)

CBC Ministries

• The Thank offering fund stands at R 5970
• The prayer supper is on Tuesday 10th June. We will be focussing our prayer on the families of Claremont.
• Continue to pray for our 40 days of growth emphasis. Pray that we all will be able to stick to our commitments.
• The climax of this journey will be the Rooted Weekend away! This happens on 20th -22nd June. Camp forms are available at the church. Pray for Rev. Marc Morrel, for Sue and others doing all the arrangements, for transport and for help to sponsor those who cant afford the whole fee.
• There is a men’s hike up above Kalk Bay on Sat 7th June. Meet at the church 7.00am.
• The next Birthday Bash for May/June birthdays in June 13th.

Denominational

Pray for Rev Angelo Scheepers as he leads the executive discussions on the future of the Baptist Union this week.

Our Community

Pray for those who are struggling with the cold and wet conditions.
