Weekly Prayer Letter

The crowd that went ahead of him and that followed him was shouting, "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!" - Matthew 21:9

The season of Lent is almost over and we are about to enter the darkness of the passion  of Christ and the brilliance and joy of the resurrection. Our hope is not vain because Christ died and rose again.

Meditation: Hope is sure because Christ dies for our sins and rose again to give new life! John1 :29-31; Luke 22; Luke 23; John 20

Missions

• Ben Smith leaves for Rooiwal on Sunday. Ursula Munnik will be in Rooiwal for the Easter week end.
• Ed Moses asks for prayer: “Please pray with us for special meetings planned for the Easter season. Pray for a strengthening of our faith in a tough environment. An environment of compromise, opposition and resistance.  Pray that we may remain faithful to the task of going and telling. Ask the Lord of the harvest to raise up more harvesters for the great task ahead. And plead with our Lord to protect us and all His servants who serve in volatile areas and circumstances.”
• Sydney Davis is still hoping to raise sufficient support for a missions trip to Ireland in June/July this year. She has just under half needed and has until end April to have the support. 

CBC Family

When you pray for our church family, why not contact them – either phone call, sms, email etc – and let them know that they have been in your thoughts and prayers. This will be a great encouragement to all.

• Emma van Tonder arrived on Monday 14th. Congratulations to Riaan and Shea. 
• Mrs Staples – Elaine Galliers mother – is very ill.
• Bruce Erickson is recovering from vascular surgery on both legs. He still experiences pain.
• Emelia Ellapen has returned from Durban. Her father who has emphysema and heart failure, has been discharged from hospital and the medication seems to be making him comfortable.
• Elaine Holmes went home today and seems much improved. She is very thankful for what everyone has done for her.
• Brenda de Smidt has now recovered from her hand operation and is back at home and able to drive.
• James Davis graduates May 10th. Please also continue to pray that the final cut-off date of May 15th will bring a position at the Medical College of Virginia for him.
• Pray for CBC family who are overseas – Rachael Beukes (N Zealand); Corina Spinazzola (USA); Peter and Barbie Anderson (cruise)
  

CBC Ministries

• We are grateful to all who helped at the Market on Sunday. R4300 was raised towards sponsoring camp fees.
• Pray for our Easter services - Tennebrae on Thursday evening 7.00pm; Good Friday communion at 9.00am and Easter Sunday at 9.30am. After the morning service there will be an Easter egg hunt for the children while adults enjoy tea, coffee and a hot cross bun.
• Pray for our up coming “40 Days of Growth” series. This begins on 11 May.

Denominational

Pray for all the Easter services and camps that churches will be holding country-wide that God will be glorified and that many will receive the message of Jesus.

Our Community

Pray for those who are lonely. Perhaps there is someone whom you could invite to share a meal with you over Easter.
