Weekly Prayer Letter

When Jesus was leaving that place, he saw a man sitting in a tax office. The man's name was Matthew. Jesus said to him, "Follow me!" So Matthew got up and followed him. - Matthew 9:9 

This will be the last prayer letter till January 24th. Maggie and I wish everyone a very blessed Christmas, and may 2014 be a year that brings you joy and much growth in the Lord.

Missions and Evangelism

Outreach

• Please pray for our Christmas service, which is always a great opportunity to preach the gospel and invite people to church.
• The summer camp, where Ronnie Davis was one of the speakers, had over 800 teens and many gave their life to the Christ. Ronnie found it a wonderful blessing.

Missionaries

• Pray for Murray Crawford who returns to the Mercy Ship for a month while waiting for his spousal visa from the USA.

Church People and Ministries

People     

• Welcome home to Bryce Erickson and Sydney Davis from the USA, who are here for a few weeks of holiday during their university winter break.
• Sandy Badenhorst is recovering well after her tonsillectomy.
• Pray for those who are on oversees visits - Maudie Nel (USA), Loretta Daniels (India), Joubert family (UK), Rachael Beukes (New Zealand).
• Pray for all who are travelling over the holiday season for safety and a happy holiday.
• Peter Landry will be on leave from Monday 16th Dec until Sunday 5th January; Peter Smallbones will be on leave from 26th Dec till 21 Jan.
• Peter and Barbie Anderson are spending 6 weeks at Carmel (a Christian guest farm) in George where Peter takes the daily services, counsels many people, as well as doing a lot of the necessary maintenance.

Ministry   

• All weekly meetings are now closed until school reopens in January.

Denominational

• Pray for all the churches in their preparation for the Christmas season.
• The Baptist Union asks us to continue in prayer concerning the financial position.

Our Societal Needs

Already we have had over 500 fatalities on the roads this month. Let’s pray for drivers to be sensible and that this statistic will be much lower than last year’s holiday period.
