Missions and Evangelism

Outreach

• Pray for the Women’s Meeting on the 15th of November and for all the unchurched women who will be invited.

Missionaries:

• Continue to pray for Lorna as she seeks to raise financial support for her position on the staff at BI.
• Murray and Candace’s latest newsletter is on the website. Candace will soon be going back to Indiana, USA to look for a nursing position and Murray will be waiting for his immigration papers from the USA government. Do pray for them.

Church People and Ministries

People

• Andrew Spencer’s motor bike has been found, and the thief apprehended. It is not yet known in what condition the bike is.
• Gail Davis has a chest infection and has been reacting rather badly to the antibiotic.
• Zoliswa Kom has had an accident and asks for prayer.
• Joan Kotze’s mother’s  funeral service was on Monday afternoon in Somerset West. Joan now has a severe bout of Flu and asks for prayer.
• Dr. Gordon Miller preached at the Seminary chapel service on Thursday for the last time as a staff member before his retirement at the end of the year. It was an emotional time for him after his 22 years service. We can be thankful to God for him and his faithful years of service and pray for the Lord to guide him into new avenues of ministry.
• Mrs Staples, Elaine Galliers mother, is back in the frail care of Russord with heart problems.
• Paul Erickson, Bruce’s brother, is recovering from prostate surgery following diagnosis of cancer.
• Sheraya Ericson and Christopher Teale are writing matric.
• Dr Kyle and Rachael Goetsch from a Baptist church in Pietermaritzburg are coming to Cape Town for 2 years. Kyle will be doing further studies at Groote Schuur. They are looking for somewhere to rent reasonably close to the hospital. Do pray for them, and should you know of a place, please let me know.
• Myke Ashley-Cooper died on Wednesday. Please be in prayer for his wife, who has Alzheimer’s,  and his children and their families. The funeral service is next Friday morning at 11.00am.

Ministry

• The Pulse Dinner Shindig will be held on Nov 1st. For tickets see Peter Landry. This is a fundraiser for Summer camp and let’s pray that it will not only raise the necessary money but also that we will draw in unchurched families and give us a chance to meet them.
• The leaders forum will be 29th October at 7.30pm

Denominational

• Pray for the General Secretary of the BUSA. At present he is having a well deserved holiday.

Our Societal Needs

Our news has been filled with much violence lately – especially against children. Pray for the out pouring of God’s grace and love on our society and for the protection of children.
