"I've heard the Israelites complaining. Tell them, 'At dusk you will eat meat, and in the morning you will eat all the food you want. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God.' " - Exodus 16:12 

Sunday 28th September after the morning service will be our community market.

The Baptist Union Annual Assembly begins on Friday 3rd October at the Strandfontein Baptist Church. I do encourage you to attend some of the meetings and get a feel for what God is doing in various parts of our country. I do encourage you to attend any of the sessions but especially the evening meetings where the worship will inspire you and the messages enrich you.

• Friday 7.00pm:      Induction of Rev Nelson Abraham as president. His message will introduce his Assembly theme – “God’s mission, Our compassion.”
• Saturday 6.45pm: Worship and the guest preacher Rev Michael Olwakoi

We will close our evening service at CBC so we can all attend the 2 meetings at Strandfontein on Sunday 5th Oct.

Missions

• Pray for Ed and Vivienne Moses as they visit the churches in SA promoting their mission in India to “the Least, the Lost and the Last."
• Continue to pray for the Christian congregations and missionaries living in the areas where ISIS is carrying out there atrocious acts of violence. Pray for peace, for the defeat of this radical organisation and for the gospel to be accepted by many people.

CBC Family

When you pray for our church family, why not contact them – either phone call, sms, email etc. – and let them know that they have been in your thoughts and prayers. This will be a great encouragement to all.

• We welcome back Mike Fourie from his time with the band sailing around the Mediterranean.

CBC Ministries

• After the morning service this Sunday (28th  ) there will be a community market.  The purpose of this event is to raise money for the Rosmead Central Primary School but also to be visible to our community and hopefully attract people and to meet them and introduce them to the church and hopefully to Jesus. There will be at least 12 stalls selling food, books and other interesting stuff.
• There will be a spiritual gifts workshop this Saturday (tomorrow). This is designed to help you find the right place to serve God. Contact Eric le Roux should you want to attend.
• The message by Dr. Paul Hartwig on Israel and Palestine is now on the website where you can download it.

Denominational

Next Friday is the start of the 2014 Baptist Union Assembly. Strandfontein Baptist is excited at the privilege of hosting the Assembly in their 1 000-seater auditorium. Two neighbouring churches will be used for breakaway sessions and the meals will be served in a brand new School Hall close by. Accommodation will be in Chalets in surrounding areas and in homes within the community. We are looking forward to welcoming our Baptist family back to Cape Town once again. We also extend an invitation to the WPBA family to attend the evening meetings, these will be open to the public. We will have a special guest speaker Pastor Michael Olwakoi from Zimbabwe. Please pray for all the arrangements that still have to be completed as well as for all those who will minister at the Assembly.
