I recently saw a poster outside a church which read as follows : “ Plan ahead for 2013 – It was not raining when Noah built the ark. “ Makes you think doesn't it ? People at that time went about their lives as usual – life went on as usual – it was business as usual. The warning signs were there – but no one heeded. And then came the flood… So in this first edition of our update for 2013 – I trust that you will plan ahead, look upward and move forward. God has great things in store for you and for us as we work our way into 2013. As I write this update there is a team of 14 people who are on a prayer yatra ( journey ) in the Anantapur district in south India. They are residents of Anantapur led by a local pastor. They are walking from Anantapur to a place called Kalyandurgam –a distance of about 42 kms. You will remember our involvement in the village Atmakur during the first few years of our stay in south India. This village has been saturated with prayer as we conducted prayer walks with various teams from South Africa and Mauritius. We also conducted Gospel meetings as we put up a tent at the entrance of this village. And now after 5 years our local partners and co workers are striving to plant a church there. There is no church or Christian witness at present. This prayer yatra will go through Atmakur where they will spend a night and proceed the next day to Kalyandurgam. The Lord has reminded us that His Word will not return empty but will accomplish the purpose for which it was sent. Please pray for God’s protection over all those involved in that prayer journey.
Thank you for praying for our Christmas carol singing program in the village where we live in north India. We were amazed at the response during those two days. You will remember that we put up a tent on our roof top and we invited our neighbours. The response was overwhelming as we simply sang carols in Hindi and read the story of our Lord’s birth from the Bible. You will remember from our last update that we are in South Africa at present. Our daughter Tamara will be getting married in March and we are here to help with the preparations. Thank you for praying – a huge challenge awaits. But we are confident that our Lord will come through for us. After the wedding we will then embark on a 6 week deputation program until we return to India. Should you desire to meet with us or to speak at any meetings or services – you may contact us on the following numbers : +27 73 899 2884 +27 110514115 (neotel ) Let me end as I share what the Lord has been saying to us as we face the challenges of 2013. He reminded us of 3 things – especially with regard to our mission to the LAST, the LEAST and the LOST. · We have a MANDATE . to preach the Good news, to plant the Gospel, to make disciples · We have a MISSION : a purpose which is Christ focused and other centred · We have a MASTER : who cares for the poor, the down trodden, the oppressed, the marginalized, the maligned, the unreached, the lost, the unchurched, the down and outs and also the up and outs. We look forward to your continued prayers, support, friendship and fellowship in the Gospel during 2013. Keep looking up 1!!! With warmest Christian greetings Ed & Vivienne Moses
