Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We marvel at how the year 2012 has flown by. It seems like only yesterday we celebrated the dawn of a new year. It’s true as one said : “ Time and tide wait for no man. “ By the grace of God we have come a long, long way in our challenge to reach the LAST, the LEAST and the LOST. We can truly say with Samuel of old : “ Thus far the Lord has helped us. “ In this final update for the year 2012 we are deeply grateful to you for your friendship, fellowship and partnership in the Missio Dei ( the Mission of God ) We greatly value the financial support provided by all who have given generously and liberally so that more people would have the opportunity to hear the Word of God. Let me give you a few examples :
In the village where we are seeking to plant the Gospel – more people are being exposed to the Good News through personal contact and developing friendships. And this in an environment hostile to the Gospel. It’s a painstakingly slow process – we wish it could be fast tracked. But the Lord is at work “ little by little …” Whilst we do not have a “ congregation “ as such, we are grateful for small mercies like sharing, listening, watching and waiting. As they say in Hindi – dukho and dekho ( wait and watch ) One missiologist called on workers in pioneering situations to consider 3 important aspects in terms of strategy : First be a learner, then a trader and then a story teller. Well said you may say. This we are seeking to inculcate in our pioneering endeavours. In the village where we live our weekly prayer meetings are evolving into vital intercessionary opportunities for our local area and the surrounding villages. We have a small but dedicated group of people who desire to see the extension of the kingdom of God. On Sunday mornings in another area closeby – a small group of people meet for fellowship and worship. Our vision is clear. We would like to see the emergence of a NT church – even though so many factors may be against us. For example – we are aware that the church is making a late entry into this area. We are up against the odds. But we know that all things are possible with God. We can also tell you about our involvement with Bible School students, with young people from various walks of life, with people while speaking at conferences, deeper life meetings, workshops, seminars and other special events and meetings. We have become “ all things to all men “ in terms of impacting people. Thank you for making all this possible through your prayers and support. You are a vital link in this work the Lord is doing. Please pray with us about two forthcoming events. On Thursday 13th Dec we will be having a carol evening on our terrace in the village where we live. We are planning to invite our neighbours and other people. On Friday the 14th we are having it in the area where we meet on Sundays. Pray that the message of our Saviour’s birth will go forth under the anointing of the Holy Spirit and that this may be the start of new beginnings for some. We also have some exciting family news to share. Our daughter Tamara will be marrying in March 2013 ( DV ) Some plans are underway whilst so much more has still to be done. With this in mind we would like to inform you that we will be arriving in South Africa on the 18th Dec and will be there for an extended time of leave and deputation. This has been planned in consultation with our home and sending church in Cape Town. We will be spending Christmas and New Year in Cape Town and then we will be based in Johannesburg where we will be helping with wedding preparations. During this time we will be available to speak at church services , cell meetings , prayer meetings and other meetings in Gauteng. From the end of March till the end of April we will be available to speak in other provinces. So if you are looking for Mission speakers we are available. You can contact us on the following numbers : Cape Town - 021 762 5365 Cell - +27 738992884 As we approach the birth remembrance of our Lord Jesus Christ - may you experience anew the joy and enthusiasm of the shepherds who were the first to be informed that a Saviour has been born who is Christ the Lord. They were Eager listeners, Ernest seekers and Enthusiastic witnesses. May this be true of you and me as we remember Him who came to seek and to save those who were and are lost. And as you enter a brand new year – may you build on the past – but reach to the future. May you be blessed with every good thing for your life, your family, your worship and your work. Should you desire to send a special Christmas gift of love – please feel free to request our bank details. Your once off gift of love will undoubtedly go a long way towards the goal of making Christ known in a needy part of God’s world. May our Lord Jesus Christ richly bless you and your family. Keep looking up !!! With warmest Christian greetings Ed & Vivienne Moses
