WORSHIP MINISTRIES

"Touching heaven - changing earth"

 

The worship ministry of the church is responsible for all aspects of our corporate worship, other than the preaching - which is the responsibility of the pastors.

 

Worship Service Logistics Ministry

 

Sixteen worship service logistics teams operate in the church to ensure that all the practical aspects of the worship services are catered for - one team each morning and one each evening over an eight week cycle.  The roles of the teams are to:

 

  • open the premises and make sure the buildings are clean and tidy and ready to welcome the congregation.

  • greet everyone who comes to worship, to make them feel really welcome and to give them information about the church.

  • collect and count the financial offerings of God's people.

  • provide refreshments so that people have the opportunity to meet each other after the worship services.

Each logistics team consists of between ten to fifteen people co-ordinated by a team leader.  the leadership structure includes a Morning Group Leader and an Evening Group Leader - who take responsibility for eight teams each, plus an overall Logistics Ministry Leader.

 

Virtually everyone in the church is involved in this ministry!  We need you there too!  Without this broad-based support, it would not be possible to operate the worship services!

 

Worship Leaders

 

The worship of God is the ultimate purpose of humankind.  When all preaching and teaching and evangelism and service are over, the church will gather before the throne of God to worship Him, forever!  Our corporate worship services are therefore quite unique opportunities to reflect on earth something of the glory of heaven, inspiring us to become passionate followers of Christ.

 

The worship leaders have an awesome responsibility to "go ahead of the people" into the presence of god and then to lead the congregation beyond their present circumstances to be captivated in wonder, love and praise.

 

God has anointed a few in our congregation and gifted them for this calling.  If you believe God is calling you into this ministry, please speak to the Pastoral Assistant for Worship.

 

Worship Teams

 

There are many elements of worship and we need to incorporate breadth and variety in our worship services.  To assist in the leading of corporate worship, we have several worship teams operating both in the morning and evening services.  these worship teams consist of instrumentalists, soloists and harmony singers, as well as those who administer music, project words, manage sound equipment, record the services, recite scripture and present drama.

 

If you have talent and giftedness in the arts or performing arts, then God has especially equipped you for this ministry and you are likely to find fulfilment in the service of God and this church, in the Worship Ministries.  Please make yourself known to the Pastoral Assistant for Worship.
