“For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God …” - Ephesians 2:8
May is our thanksgiving month and also part of our 40 days of sp. Growth journey.
From May 11 – June 22 we begin our journey of spiritual growth through the letter to the Ephesians. You can participate by:
a. Attending both Sunday services for this period. Each week will focus on a different chapter.
b. Take a work book (they are free!) and work through a chapter of Ephesians every week on your own. These will be available from this Sunday. (4th May)
c. Attend a weekly cell group for this period. Please place your name on the list on the table in the foyer and the cell group you presently attend. If you don’t usually attend a cell group join us for this 6 week commitment.
d. Learning the weekly memory verse and meditating on it during the day.
My prayer is that you will grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ as you study his word, fellowship with His people, serve Him and pray.
There are study guides available and you can collect yours from the communion table on Sunday. We just ask you to make a commitment to use these 6 weeks to focus on your spiritual growth. Please put your name down on the list available next to the books.
Our special thanksgiving fund is given towards supporting missionaries and other full-time Christian workers. During this month I will highlight the people we support so you can remember to rpay for them.
When you pray for our church family, why not contact them – either phone call, sms, email etc – and let them know that they have been in your thoughts and prayers. This will be a great encouragement to all.
Pray for the need for a pastor to take over from Pastor Ben Smith at Heideveld Baptist Church so that he has more time for Rooiwal.
Pray about the increasing crime in this area. It seems that we need to be extra vigilant at the moment.
Sunday 18 May
Pastor Peter Smallbones writes our weekly prayer letters. Read them here to keep up with our church, our people and our activities in our community and further afield.
