SUNDAY SCHOOL

"We create a loving, welcoming environment for all children from all walks of life"

We have a great love for children and so strive to provide for them the best opportunities and environment for them to come to love, respect and learn about God. To do this most effectively, we divide the children into age groups and let them be taught by people who have particular passion for that age range.

The divisions are:

A crèche for folks wanting their babies cared for while they attend the service.

(0 - 2 yr olds)

Crèche (0 - 2 years)

Tiny tots class is run by Fay, ably assisted by an enthusiastic team of young helpers. Here the little ones begin to be introduced to God and His wonderful truths through handwork, songs, stories, etc. This class runs from the start to the finish of church time. (2 - 4 yr olds)

Tiny tots (2 - 4 years)

Pre-school class is run by Val and 4 loving, patient and enthusiastic assistants (this age group has a lot of energy....and volume!). They delve deeper into the many spiritual truths found in Scripture about God. They begin the important exercise of memorizing the Word so as to "hide Gods word in their hearts". They love their Bible stories, handwork, singing, playing and also remain in class from the start of church to the end. (4-6 yr olds)

Pre-school (4 - 6 years)

Junior primary class. Run by Tracy and 3 dedicated, caring young people. This age group wants to know all they can about God. Excellent, up to date manuals are used to help with classroom prep so the lesson covers an intro, Bible lesson and a time of application. The children are now becoming aware as to how the Word affects their lifestyle and choices. It is not uncommon for children to ask the Lord Jesus into their hearts at this age and thus begin a fellowship with the Holy Spirit as their helper and companion. (7 - 8 yr olds)

Junior primary (7 - 8 years)

"Middle" primary class. This class used to be included in the Junior primary class, but the classes became so big, that another class was started. (9 - 10 yr olds)

"Middle" primary (9 - 10 years)

Senior primary is run by Tania with 3 teachers to help her. This age has plenty of interesting questions about life, God, where they fit in etc. The teachers are kept on their toes and need to reflect Jesus as they deal with the kids. This age group wants to see all they've learnt "in action". The teachers also make use of the excellent resource material available so that the different stories/subjects can be thoroughly learned and tools given to apply them to daily living (10 - 12 yr olds).

Senior primary (10 - 12 years)

The above 3 groups come into church for the 1st 20 minutes to get a taste of church life, worship, corporate praise, etc.

Teenagers - Ronnie Davis and Jonathan Smith, meet with the teenagers in Peter's office, half way through the service and provide an excellent opportunity and space to study the Word in depth on relevant topics.  (13-18 yr olds)

Our main goal through Sunday School, is to help to change the character of the child as they understand more and more of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and embrace Him into their lives and lifestyles. We create a loving, welcoming environment for all children from all walks of life.
