FAMILY MINISTRIES

"Reaching out by providing a caring, nurturing environment for the formation and development of families of all kinds"

 

 

The specific focus of this ministry is to give the different age groups that are involved in families, the opportunity to grow in their knowledge of the Bible, fellowship, evangelism, discipleship and interpersonal skills.

 

This ministry consist of:

 

A.    Sunday School

 

Takes place during the Sunday morning service.

 

Consists of the following classes:

  • Crèche (0 - 2 yr olds)

  • Tiny Tots (2 - 4 yr olds)

  • Pre-school (4 - 6 yr olds)

  • Junior Primary (7 - 8 yr olds)

  • "Middle" Primary (9 - 10 yr olds)

  • Senior Primary (10 - 12 yr olds)

  • Teenagers (13 - 18 yr olds)

Opportunities for service:

  • Teachers

  • Helpers

  • Worship leading

  • Teachers/helpers during holidays

 

B.    Youth

 

"People changing people into being the best they can be in Christ"

 

This ministry consists of the following:

 

Tilt

Takes place Friday evenings at 19:45 - 22:30

Time of worship, fellowship, fun

A programme is followed

 

C.    Young Adults

 

Takes place on Tuesday evenings at the home of Mal and Sue Taylor in Rondebosch (phone church office for address).  Starting time - 20:00.  Includes topical discussions, biblically based - fellowship and prayer.

 

Opportunities for service:

  • Leaders

  • Leading a bible study

 

D.    Needs Based Family Programmes

 

Determining special needs that families may have through surveys, expressed needs and the pastoral team.

 

Finding and developing programmes to help families through difficulties in relationships and difficult circumstances in life.

 

Using these programmes to reach other unchurched families that have needs or hurts.
